The warm waters of the Indian Ocean are ideal for many water sports. These include, kite surfing, snorkeling, diving and sailing. Al Hamra is around 2 hours by car from Tsavo National Park, Kenya’s largest wildlife reserve.

Al Hamra offers a wealth of activities which are easily accessible and will stimulate the most discerning adventurer. Watamu is a world renowned destination for watersports including Sport Fishing (tag & release).

Near Al Hamra you can explore one of the last areas of ancient coastal forest stretching over 400 square kilometers. The Arubuko-Sokoke Forest is home to numerous rare trees, plants, butterflies and birds. A walk, jog or mountain bike trek along the forest trails will be a rich experience to be savoured, amidst the heavy scent of wild flowers which lingers in the air. This ancient eco system lies close to Mida Creek, a sparkling inland waterway spanning 27 square kilometers, home to spectacular birds including fish eagles and flamingos.
